How to use
How to use
DO:
- Before first use, clean the Tawa with a clean cloth. Once clean, you can make chapatis over a low flame.
- Use the Tawas on a low flame with or without a heat diffuser to prevent cracking.
- Clean your Tawas immediately after they return to room temperature.
- Soak a soft sponge in tepid water, apply baking soda or lemon water, and gently clean your vessel thoroughly.
- Allow your vessels enough time to dry to maintain their natural finish.
- Place a cushion of tissue or cloth between each product when stacking.
- These vessels without any metal attachments are microwave safe, allowing convenient heating while preserving traditional cooking methods.
- Clay cookware items are compatible with gas stoves using a heat diffuser, sigdi, or chullah.
- Use a cloth or stand to keep hot Tawas and cooking vessels to prevent cracking due to temperature differences between cold and hot surfaces.
Important Note:
- Never soak Non-Stick Tawas or simple Tawas in water, especially Non-Stick ones. Soaking may cause the Tawa to absorb water, potentially leading to cracking when heated on a gas stove or causing bubble formation due to water evaporation.
- Always keep the hot Tawa or cooking vessel on a stand or cloth to prevent cracking from temperature differences between cold and hot surfaces.
- For cooking chapatis on clay Tawas, use less water in the dough to ensure a firmer consistency.
DON’T:
- Don’t soak Non-Stick Tawas or simple Tawas in water.
- Don’t place hot cooking vessels on cold surfaces.
- Don’t stack a lot of dishes in the sink while washing.
- Don’t use stainless steel or metal scrubbers to clean.
- Don’t use a dishwasher to rinse or wash these products.
- Don’t use these vessels on induction, coil, plate, or electric stoves.
